Lillian and
her family moved from Canada’s north to Edmonton, Alberta in
June of 2008 and joined AWOC in early 2009. She graduated from the
Akitsiraq Law Program in 2005 with a law degree from the University of
Victoria. Lillian was admitted to the Northwest Territories Bar in 2008,
and the Nunavut Bar and the Alberta Bar in 2009. Lillian
has done extensive work at the community and government level, as well
as with the Inuit Organizations in Nunavut. As an Inuk beneficiary born
and raised in Nunavut, her knowledge, understanding and fluency of the
Inuit culture and language will be an asset to AWOC.
Lillian’s practise will focus primarily on issues and matters
related to Nunavut and the north. Although Lillian now makes her home
in Sherwood Park, Alberta she looks forward to working with and
assisting clients north of 60.
